What We Believe

The Bible

The Bible as originally given is inerrant, infallible, and inspired and therefore it is the authoritative rule for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Creation

God created the heavens and the earth. Nothing was made before Him and without Him nothing was made. He created everything out of nothing. (Genesis 1, John 1)

The trinity

There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.  Each person of the trinity is eternal, of the same essence, and equal in power.

(Matthew 3:15, Matthew 28:19, John 14:26)

Jesus' Divinity

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came down from heaven to be born of the virgin. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, fully God and fully man. (Luke 1:26-38) He led a sinless life and was crucified for our sins. He died, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead on the third day. He bodily appeared to His disciples, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

Man's Depravity

All have fallen short of the glory of God and exist in a depraved state of sin in which righteousness cannot be attained apart from Christ and that Christ’s death on the cross satisfied the penalty of sin once and for all. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8-9)

Redemption

There is justification, regeneration, and new birth of sinners through repentance and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9-10, Romans 5:1, Colossians 2:13)

Holy Spirit

The indwelling, baptism, fruits, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, subsequent to salvation, are all fully active in the life of the Church today. (1 Corinthians 3:16, Acts 1:5, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12)

Sacraments

It's important to practice the sacraments of our Lord, namely Water Baptism and Holy Communion.

(Acts 2:38, 1 Corinthians 11:26)

Marriage and Gender

Marriage, as instituted by God in the Garden of Eden, was a monogamous covenant relationship between a man and a woman (Genesis 2: 21-24). Jesus Christ affirmed this model of marriage in the New Testament (Matthew 19:4-6). God created mankind in two genders as fixed biological realities (Genesis 1:26-28).

Return of Christ

In the imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 24:44)
