About Water Baptism
Why Should I Be Baptized?
A. To follow the example set by Christ.
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. (Mark 1:9)
B. Because Christ commanded it.
Jesus said, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you. (Matt. 28:19-20)
C. It demonstrates that I am a believer in Christ.
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.(1 Jn. 2:3)
What is the meaning of baptism?
A. It illustrates Christ’s death, burial & resurrection.
- Christ died for our sins, was buried, & was raised on the 3rd day. (1 Cor. 15:34)
- When you were baptized, you were buried with Christ & also raised up with Him. (Col. 2:12)
B. It illustrates my new life as a Christian.
- If anyone is in Christ he is made new inside; the old person is gone and a new life has begun. (2 Cor. 5:17)
- We have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. (Rom. 6:4)
C. Baptism doesn’t make you a Christian.
- By grace you are saved through faith, not of yourself; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Eph. 2:8-9)
- By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. (1 Jn. 2:3)
Why be baptized by immersion?
A. Because Jesus was baptized that way.
When He was baptized, Jesus came up from the water. (Matt. 3:16)
B. Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion.
Both Philip and the man went down into the water, and he baptized him. (Acts 8:38)
C. The word “baptize” means to dip under water.
D. It best symbolizes burial & resurrection. (Rom. 6:1-11)

Do I Need To Register?
Nope, just come out and join us! There is a Facebook event page if you would like to RSVP on there but it's not necessary. There will be no admission or fee.
Can I Come if I Don't Plan to Be Baptized?
Absolutely! There will be many gathered to worship and celebrate life change.
What Should I bring?
You may want bring a lawn chair or a towel/blanket to sit on if you don't want to stand for a while. If you plan to be baptized, make sure you bring a towel to dry off afterwards.

What Will The Night Look Like?
At 7:00 PM we will kick off with worship and spend time lifting up the name of Jesus. Throughout the evening you will hear the Word, the truth of God declared and testimonies of His goodness. Water baptisms will be after approximately 30 minutes of worship. The event should wrap up around 8:30 PM.
Can any Church Attend?
Yes! This is not about our Church, this is about the Kingdom of God and the invitation for all to receive Jesus as Savior and Salvation from sin.
Where Should I park?
Parking around the lake is limited. There will be officers directing traffic to designated parking areas at surrounding businesses. We recommend coming early to ensure a parking spot.
Will there be food?
We will not be providing any food but Big T's will be open until 9:00 PM. We recommend coming early if you plan to eat so that you can be engaged during our worship time.
